The clipping problem

Most AI clipping tools find clips. They don't know if the clip makes sense.

01 / Missing setup

They grab a punchy line but drop the context.

Viewers don't get it. The clip lands without the premise that made the line mean something.

We were six months in, burning through runway, and
honestly we tried every growth tactic in the book —
"the thing that finally worked was just
picking up the phone and calling them."
→ setup stripped · clip lands without context
02 / Weak hooks

The moment has value, but the first 3 seconds don't hold anyone.

A great middle is irrelevant if the opening doesn't earn the swipe. Most tools never check the hook.

03 / Manual review

You still re-watch everything to find the usable ones.

The tool returns 40 clips and offers no reason to trust any of them. You re-do the work it promised to save.

How it works

A short-form workflow built around context, not timestamps.

STEP 01

Watch-through

ShipReel takes in the whole video — words, speakers, and timing.

STEP 02

Topic map

Chapters and arguments — what is this episode actually about?

STEP 03

Candidate moments

Self-contained beats ranked by hook strength and replay value.

STEP 04

Self-containment

Does it make sense without the previous 20 minutes? If not, flag it.

STEP 05

Styled render

9:16 export with hook card, captions, titles, and platform presets.

Most podcasts produce 3–4 ready-to-post clips in about two minutes — right on your Mac.

Inside the app

From raw footage to publish-ready — in one window.

You choose: how many clips, max length, captions (style & size), hook teasers, taglines — set per project.

FAQ

Answers before you ask.

Can it handle large files?+

Yes — there's no file-size limit. Multi-hour 4K files are processed locally, so size and length aren't bottlenecks the way they are for cloud tools that cap uploads and time out.

Does my video get uploaded?+

Never. ShipReel uses the most advanced LLM to find your best moments while your video stays right on your Mac — no upload.

How do credits work?+

The app is a one-time $49 purchase, with a 14-day full trial and 20 free credits to start. Analysis then runs on credits: 1 credit per 20 minutes of video (3 per hour) — about $0.6 per video-hour. Each analysis is charged once, based on the video's length.

Buy credits in packs: 100 / $29, 400 / $99 (best value), or 1,500 / $299. Credits never expire.

Which languages are supported?+

ShipReel works with a wide range of languages, including English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese.

Hook generation and captions currently focus on English, Spanish, and Chinese; more rendering languages roll out in v1.x updates.

What's included in the one-time purchase?+

Every feature in the app — all export formats and aspect ratios, captions, hook teasers, taglines, and Style Memory. There is no "Pro" tier and no add-ons. Analysis runs on credits, billed separately.

Free updates within v1.x are included. A future v2 — if and when it ships — will be a separate purchase with an upgrade discount for existing owners.

Does it run on Intel Macs?+

No. ShipReel relies on Apple Silicon (M1 or later) to keep analysis fast. Intel Macs aren't supported.

Can I use one license on multiple Macs?+

Your license follows your account — sign in on any Mac, up to 3 active at once. Move between machines whenever you like; no support ticket, no seat counting.
